Breath and touch

TouchING and be touched
Touching and being touched is one of the most fundamental experiences of contact and, alongside eating, breathing and sleeping, is a basic human need. The skin, our largest sensory organ, registers every touch, every tiny vibration, and transmits it
to the heart and brain. It is the first sensory experience we have when we come into the world and the only sense that does not diminish with age.

Your breath as an anchor
Even as an embryo in the protected womb, the baby is moved and rocked with every breath its mother takes. It is warm, quiet and safe in there.
The touch of Lomi massage reminds us of this comforting rocking motion – the extensive skin contact, oceanic movements and special underhand strokes create a feeling of deep security.
The essence of Lomi Lomi Nui is also expressed through the breath:
The masseur or masseuse connects with the recipient through the breath. This creates a resonance that picks up physical and emotional vibrations with the aim of deepening breathing and releasing tension. Active lung capacity can increase and the autonomic nervous system can relax. Emotional stability sets in, while at the same time the space of one’s ownconsciousness expands towards the realisation:
This is me.

Out of the silence,
eyes still closed,
a loving touch, a warm hand
– wanting nothing, expecting nothing –
Giving support, nourishing, unconditional.

HOW WE BREATHE IS HOW WE LIVE
The connection between breath and touch is a way to get in touch with yourself – comparable to a physical unfolding. Like a bridge between thinking and feeling, a connection to your own source of creativity and joie de vivre is created.
The wonderful thing about this is that the path to our own divine core becomes tangible again. At the same time, we can connect with an energy that is greater than ourselves. Access to our own potential, creativity, intuition and self-confidence can become free again.
INTEGRATING BREATHWORK INTO OUR SEMINARS
As trained certified breath therapists, we are familiar with the power of connected breathing. It is therefore an essential component not only in our treatments, but also in all Lomi training seminars.

PROCESS-ORIENTED HAWAIIAN
BODYWORK IN TRAINING
How can you accompany your clients as a massage therapist?
What role does your breathing play in this?
With us, you will first learn to encounter yourself and use your breath as a centering anchor. This will greatly help you later on to prepare for massages, accompany your clients safely through their emotional processes and then integrate the experience with them. You will naturally learn a powerful method that you can also use for yourself in your everyday life.
During the training, you will gradually develop confidence in dealing with challenging issues that your clients may bring up. Conscious breathing is a constant focus throughout. Practising in a group creates an important foundation for later working confidently and sensitively with your own clients.
