Lomi Hapai Training
Honoring the Sacred Journey of Motherhood

Lomi Hapai
The most important new beginning in all of our lives is our birth – and with every birth, a mother is also born.
In the Lomi Hapai training course, you will learn how to perform Lomi massage in the side and back positions, which is particularly suitable for the needs of women during and after pregnancy. You will gain a deep understanding of the connection between mother and child and learn how Lomi Hapai massage can support pregnancy and birth on a physical, emotional and spiritual level.
In ancient Hawaiian traditions, pregnant women were sometimes massaged for days by Kahunas. In ancient Hawaiian traditions, pregnant women were sometimes massaged for days on end by the kahunas, the healers. This was a loving way of preparing them to let go during birth and welcome the new life. The baby is included in the massage from the very beginning. Lomi Hapai massage encourages surrender: birth is ‘letting go’ with a deep trust in one's own strength.
Having a baby in the womb also shifts the body's centre of gravity, which can be a major change and challenge for the woman.
In collaboration with a midwife and a doula, we impart essential knowledge about the anatomy and physiology of the female body during pregnancy in order to make the massage safe and prepare the woman optimally for birth.
What makes this course special
- You will gain deep insight into the physical and emotional shifts during pregnancy and the postpartum period, enriched by Hawaiian wisdom, ritual, and bodywork.
- All the techniques you learn can also be used in traditional Lomi massage, especially for side lying positions.
- We invite pregnant women to join us for one day of the course. This allows you to directly apply the Lomi Hapai massage ritual you have learned – a very moving experience that makes our training special.
- This creates a space for active exchange and sustainable learning.
- Our seminar is led by Anja Goralski, an experienced Lomi body therapist and breath therapist..
- A doula & mother as well as a midwife & acupuncturist also support the course with their experience and expertise. This allows us to combine both theoretical and practical knowledge of Lomi Hapai.
- With the help of presence exercises and bodywork techniques, you will learn to actively empathise with your future clients – even if you have not yet had any experience with pregnancy and/or postpartum care yourself.
- You will receive a lovingly designed workbookto accompany you through the course – with space for reflection, inspiration and background knowledge.
- At the end, you will receive a certificate.
We are convinced that birth concerns us all. Pregnant women deserve support. LOMI HAPAI can have a positive influence on the baby and future generations.
