The Queen of Massages
Lomi Lomi Nui was brought to the world more than 5000 years ago by the Kahunas, the shamans of ancient Hawaii, as a healing and initiation ritual for transformation and new beginnings.
Lomi Lomi means to press, rub or knead – much like the kneading of a purring cat. By repeating the word “Lomi” here, the Hawaiians emphasize the intense effect of this technique.
The recipient is supported not only physically but also emotionally and spiritually to let go of the old, and open up to the new.
Even in ancient Hawaiian family traditions, the Lomi ritual served to prepare people for change.
For example, the Kahunas massaged pubescent teenagers to ease their transition into adulthood and help them accept their changing bodies.
High dignitaries and kings received Lomi massages allowing them to connect to their inner wisdom and to make clear and good decisions on behalf of their people.

A prayer in motion
“Nui” means “unique ritual” and combines bodywork with energy work. The person giving the massage moves around the massage table almost like a dancer and is guided by the body language of the person receiving. Long and flowing strokes alternate with deep and intense massage for muscles, tissues and bones.
Long, hypnotizing strokes are repeated over and under the body, enveloping it like ocean waves in the warm oil of the massage. They create a global sense of harmony from head to toe and trigger a feeling of acceptance, of being accepted – a touch that gives warmth and provides protection.
Embedded in the Hawaiian tradition, Lomi massage is characterised by acceptance, respect and universal love: the spirit of Aloha.

WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT LOMI LOMI NUI
Lomi Lomi can feel like diving into the ocean: sometimes gentle and rocking, sometimes powerfully activating. The whole body is massaged, stretched, held and carried by the hands, arms and forearms of the giver.
Just as a snake sheds its skin to rejuvenate itself, the Lomi ritual is also a way to rid oneself of old and burdensome things. Layer by layer, the body is felt and touched. It is a cleansing process on all levels. Blockages melt; old, obstructive ideas, concepts and beliefs as well as emotions stored in them can be released and flow away.
Lomi Lomi opens new spaces of aliveness. It is at the same time a deep, lasting experience of pleasure.
